The BMW E30 Tech 1

Seeing as it was mentioned about my old E30, I thought I would post pics....

This was purchased as a poor looked after car, never washed, no care about the paint, leather, worn steering wheel, scratched dash, grimey rusty engine bay etc...at the time I was working for Fanuc Robotics and spunked nearly 2 years worth of pay into it....which made this one of the best genuine Tech 1 sports in the UK.

It was lined up for a feature with Total BMW before the crash at Llandow...

Here is when I first purchased it, having it sat on genuine Alpinas at a Welsh BMW meet in Brecon...



After having one of the dullest paintjobs there, it was time to get to work...with the help of fellow E30 enthusiasts...





Took a long time but paint was sorted, it werent sat on Alpinas anymore either, wanted the original look so until I could find cross spokes that were decent enough she was on bottle tops, it's a shame as they ruined these pics...





The interior was next, I had everything I could replaced, leather conditioned, even the keys were made shiny once more....sadly the Tech 1 wheel isn't very...appealing, I knew so pretty high up people in the E30 world back then...so a favour was called in, alot of money was used and I managed to get my hands on one of the most rare steering wheels ever made for BMW by Nardi...these are hard enough to find 2nd hand...I'm still the only person known to fit one of these new within the last 10 years...



After this I concentrated on the engine bay, replacing the exhaust, brakes, fitting an OBC and as many little details as I could...I could bore you with more photos but I'll just show you the end result...

If one got offered to me...I'd most likely get rid of the S14 for it, but would have to be mint!

Looks crap, you should have painted it matt black.

Also, I'm guessing this is why you dont drive your cars anymore?

that bmw looks sweet and if you still got it y dont u just fix it its not that bad

looks lovely, but now all u should do is..............


slam it, strip the paint, get it stanced and then chop the roof....job done :L

He hasn't got it, its been gone a while. Since that car hes had a 200sx, the e36, and now the s14

I remember seeing pics of this car being broken and scrapped.

Yea, due to the bits on it the better option was to strip it and sell the parts seperately....sadly, a mate who gave me a hand made off with most of the good stuff without paying and I've not seen him since...live and learn.
