whats the underneath / wheel arches / chassis legs etc like for rot

hia, i dont kno much about the car its on behalf of a friend. its a solid car as far as i kno. bit of rust bubbles on rear arches, scuff at front passenger corner, everything electric workin fine.

in the pic car had just come back from a run to machynlleth and back to aber. doesnt over heat, the only adviser it had last year for mot were the sils mite need looking at this year.

Arches and a corner of one of the bumpers sounds normal for ford.

the temp gauge is well within saft margins as you can all see, but my preference would be to strenghten the mixture a tad to settle it at 1/4

as for the sills, just plate them over, weld it in, jobs a good-un

I'll always have a smile on my face lookin at an escort, would prefere a DERV personally, but will bear it in mind

so far an escort for me was THE most reliable car i've ever had.
fun to drive, took a hammering, parts are cheap, simple engineering...
not as many weak spots for rust as on the mk4's and 5's

The only thing that does let them down is the crap design for lower arms.
£60 a side from the squealers, or £20 for pattern
