| Well I've been saving up my pocket money and decided to put a new engine in my car but I've heard there can be compatibility problems so I'm just wondering if anyone has any clues about it. It's to go into a 2001 Astra 1.7Dti. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated Ebay Link | |

| Seems like a good plan, and an astra is a good base to start with. I dont know much technically about this kinda stuff, but it cant be that hard a job to do. | |

| Callum, I'd start with some kind of spaceframe to sit that engine one but keep the standard rear axle. Then develope a little cockpit, its gonna get warm and quite windy around it. Have a bucket on a string to drop feul in, glue astra front on cockpit, have go kart steering and go for gold! Made a quick enginering diagram to explain *not the lack of bucket, still, in the primary stages of development | |

| And a 4" high car! basic design looks intriguing, may have a problem fitting rear lights/numberplate etc, i can see a problem with the wing mirrors too.. | |

| some how i wouldnt really be to worried about the fact you have no rear lights or a number plate, would be kind of hard to miss or hear it coming. | |

| Wow Chris! Thanks mate, that's a really sweet design. I might take it up to Huw and see if he could do it for me... Next problem is ride comfort. I'm worried I'll be compromising comfort for speed. What springs should I use? | |

| I think you'd be better off trying to shock-proof the seat rather than the car itself, mite save a lot of hassle, also if you put soft springs on the ahem, "cockpit" section then your next problem will be how to prevent lift-off! | |

I'm going to possibly suspend the seat so it has room to move. And to prevent lift-off....lead weights. A fuck lot of lead weights! | |
