Right, I've bought a new car the the Mrs, its totaly slow and makes me feel like i've given up in life driving it but hey ho onto the question...

The car didn't come with a valid tax disk, but trying to do it online it said that the car does have road tax untill end of May. Now, can I ask the DVLA for a copy of the tax disk or do I just have to buy a new one, or maybe I could drive around in it untill it was due to expire?

Any ideas/ help appriciated.

i would ring them, i had a similar happen to myself when i bought a car off a trader ages ago. i spoke to dvla (as unhelpful as they are) and they confirmed that i had 2 months left and it cost me like £5 for a replacement tax disc.
