| had to go and double check deff not 19mm or 20mm on my car, used a 13/16 socket to tighten them up with is 20.6375 mm on the conversion of metric to imperial, the mk1 mx5 tho does have 17 or 19mm as i checked a while ago allthough the wheel have a different shape, odd stuff been 21mm i suppose. | |

| no much in the way of mods for now untill i get my overtime through or sell the accord, not to say iv not been busy tho first off i made some spigot rings to fit the rotas got them all fitted and bolted on a treat, i then notices that when its lowered i may need to roll the arches slightly all depending on cambers etc that may help slightly so bearing this in mind i got busy and made myself an arch roller pics are of my trial fit, looks like i may need to use my 2nd roller that i have spare and plance a tapered slot in it to help get the arch started before using the roller thats seen in the pics. slots in the top half by the roller allow it to be adjusted to fit different sizes of arches etc, also i based the bottom design on a multi fit wheel spacer so it should fit 4 and 5 stud cars no worries, thankfully i can use profile burners miller lathes and welders which all came in handy to make this. hopefully i wont need to use it or use it much at all and if i do itl work well enough but at least i now have one just incase. | |

| got my hands on the roll bar that was ment to be for a kit car myself and a friend are making. This is put to one side once he changed his mind as to the design so i nabbed that and made a start with it. First job was to remove the mounting plates that were welded to the bottom and drop it in to see how it fits width wise against my measuremts. 2nd job was to cut the overall height down as it was way to high. test fit - cut up some scrap and made a mock up mounting bracket, new ones will need to be made on monday that are longer but used what i had for now. these will need to be extended by 25mm. This will give me plenty to weld the bar onto and enough material to weld some vertical plates onto that will drop down and be bolted in behind the seats. itl be bolted onto the seat belt pillar to and then two plated behind the seats and two vertical bars dropping down the back in the final plan. But aim of the game at the mo is to just use what i have but its all coming along nicly so far. | |

| im not planning to find out but they should be fine so long as they are god welds no reason why they should be as strong as the original metal, plus its 47mm tube wit 4mm wall thickness so its all quite hefty if a bit to big but just playing with ideas at the moment, i was originall thinking of an actuall hoop hoop but this is what iv got to use at the mo and to help work out dimensions, so much easier once you can see something in place. | |

| looking alright honestly i'd fit some legs to that hoop tho, any forwards or backwards motion on the top and it will fold flat, chances of you rolling exactly 90degrees sideways are slim to none. | |

| rear bars will be fitted made up some base plates to go in, just need to work out exactly where and what length of tube and angles are needed. They need to be quite vertical on this cage tho same as with all mk2 mx5's to allow room for the glass to fold down. Hopefully get a lilttle bit closer to getting them sorted this eve. The bars will drop down into roughly where the shaded blob has appreaed on the photo shjowing everything removed from around the petrol tank area. | |

| finally after a proper ball ache of a job it done and fitted, i wont be rushing to do another one any time soon allthough i do still like the idea of a hoop so may use this as a template in the future. Any opinions so far ??? | |

| quite pleased with it after all the measuring and head work involved due to the rear screen and stuff, not bad cost was no more than a few grinding disks and some weld bit of wire gas etc. | |
