Suspension: 70/60 Jackson Tuning Kit, PPS Subframe with full wishbone conversion

yep. normally there 5days out of 7.

so how do turbo bike carbs work?

its actually scaring difficult NOT!!!

the useful thing is that there is a lot of info on this as its a high end bike mod using 1200+ engines.

First i know that my engine can handle over 1bar of boost in its stock form, but in means of engine survival i will only be needing 6psi to start with, so we use a low pressure Saab9000 CDE Turbo, the wastage is fixed at 6psi and generates a full boost from 2k-6k rpm, then we have the plenum that fits onto the carb airbox plate (dump valve is mounted to the plenum (and sticking out of the bonnet), to give the refrence pressure you plug the top carb vents into the plenum (turbo bikes use a similar system called a pitot), then its all down to getting the jetting and tuning perfect

a fellow polo owner got his 55bhp 1.3 aav engine up to 1.3/4 bar before detonation begun to occur on single point injection, at 6 psi it came in at 115bhp (G40 territory), bear in mind mine was 75odd before the carbs and the restrictive stock intake was a real power drain, with free flowing bike carbs it came in at 94 bhp, so a turbo should see me well over the 100 mark

I toyed with the idea in the past using what was left of my SuperTurbo March engine but there wasnt enough of that left intact after the S. charger let go to salvage.

so u have to seal off the top of the carbs in a plenum?

Currently no go on the turbo, just going to stay as it is for now.
