Super cheap '5

Nah, I already bash the front bumper against shit all the time - the only splitter I like on these costs £150 and I don't wanna spend that much just to rip it off

So uh, haven't updated this in ages.

After the dodgy bilstien spewed its oil out, I went back to standard struts.
Couple of weeks later a bloke on my facebook was selling some konis with adjustable height and damping at a reasonable price. So I took him up on it.



So Adam picked them up for me, and I went there, borrowed his ramp, and put them on quickly before I returned back to Gloucester... I really should have lifted them a bit before putting them on the car... I go over about 10 speed bumps a day, and my arch rubs like fuck when I turn too hard.

And because I haven't set them up properly, it under steers like fuck... taken all the fun out of it.

So it looks like I can't take advantage of super-lows. Watch this space.

Its not super low, and the wheels are sunk right into the arches so there's no stance or anything like that.

The previous suspension was far more back breaking

So here it is - doesn't look very low, but the fronts rub, and the exhaust keeps smashing stuff on my daily commute.



Also, notice the 9 traffic lights. They are everywhere. Don't take the roads in Mid-Wales for granted! It would seem across the border the roads are straight, full of speed limits, speed cameras, traffic lights, bad drivers and there's still just as many pot holes too.

I never put the roof down in it lol! Although its good that you can keep the windows up, but drop the backwindow.

When I first got it I had the roof down everywhere, even in rain and snow. But yea, if you're in the heat but driving, you don't realise - so after like a 6 hour drive you end up bright red and in pain lol. Also... I feel like a poof with the roof down

Anyway... update - here's why its low and I haven't done anything about it.
That fucker there won't budge!

Loads of WD40 - plenty of hammer, and a selection of other tools too. I bent the C spanner trying to undo it!

oh shit! why not try some sort of degreeser cleaner on it to try and get rid of whats stopping it from unwinding, then blast it with some more wd40 then AAAATTTTAAAAACK

or just leave the car low

Going back onto 3 billies and a standard shock lol.

Then gonna make the decision whether to rebuild the Konis or buy an ebay suspension.

mines as low as it will go on the back and rubbed like a twat till i took all the arch linings out ha,

full lock was frustrating till i hit it all in with a hammer,

just the chassis need notching now as the shafts catch when going fast over bumps in the road

Turns out my shocks aren't fucked at all. A bit of adjustment and it feels much stiffer - and now the damping is only on half way - it was on stiffest before.

I gotta thank Adam Allen. He's like a fucking wizard!

Car now handles like an mx5 should handle.
Gotta fine tune it now

Jesus I'm happy about how my car is handling. Took it on a back road and it makes me smile again!

Getting all the alignment and tracking etc. done tomorrow, so hopefully it'll corner like fuck
