Thought i should introduce my car on here so here goes.

bought the car on 14/07/10 and is my second car and my second 306. It
had done 110k with FSH and 2 owners and brought for a sum of £1995 which
im extremely happy with as its the correct colour and number of door i
wanted. Also wanted it with sunroof and without air con, as air con is
heavy and never works anyway, and easier to FMIC. Picked it up from a
garage 28miles away. Had a small issue when i got back, diesel was
leaking from high pressure side of the injectors, after 10mins finding
the leak and 2mins with a 17mm spanner, it was perfect.

Alloy Wheels need a refurb but these will be sold as im currently
refurbing a set of them in Ford Gunmetal Grey or Gold, havent decided
yet.

Genuine Rubber Peugeot Floor Mats (Tailored to fit car) have been down
since the car come out the factory as you can tell by the carpet
underneath them.

31/07/10 - De-catted

Did oil & filter change along with a new fuel filter today, so while
i was under car, I did De-cat with a pipe i brought from a member off
here for £25 so just a bolt-off and bolt-on and can still keep my cat
pipe if i ever wanted to put it on for whatever reason. Did it within
5mins. Theres a slight increase in acceleration, but more so in top end.
Yes, centre box is a bit wonky but i sorted this after i took picture
and realised the back box wasnt straight.

A few days after this (03/08/10) i had it remapped by a mate to about
120bhp but got to be dyno'd yet. Im very happy with the power now, more
than enough for now anyway. A little smokey (black) but its not as bad
as some ive seen on here lol.

19/11/10 - Enclosed Forced Cold Air Induction Kit Fitted

Fitted my induction kit today. You can hear the turbo spool up a little
louder and has a more sounding grunt. Im going to say there is very
little power difference but im quite sure theres something. Only got it
vented by the side of rad atm, will be either in grill or fog light when
i get round to it.

12/11/10 - First Crash

Driving down a lane, Land Rover Defender '08 plate come round corner,
road was totally covered in mud, we both put brakes on, ABS kicking in,
landy was skidding, BANG! FFS, TBH i have got lucky. He managed to get
in hedge a little and so i hit his metal bumper and wheel. No damage on
his apart from scuffing the alloy wheel a bit on my bumper. We both said
said knock for knock so no insurance details/names/number were
exchanged. So its not all bad (thank god), at least insurance aint
involved so mine and no-one elses insurance will go up. Heres the
damage:

Needs New Bumper, Headlight and Wing. Glad it hasnt touched bonnet or anything else. Even the washer bottle is perfect.

I have a set of headlights that i black masked a while back but some of mounting brackets are broken bit fixable.

Anyway, went to visit Pboost and brought a bumper from him. Also got a
new rear bumper as mine has a little scuff on one side (got this from
ebay).

Im going to wait until all bad weather is over until i fix it up anyway.

11/12/10 - Quick Clean and Stickers on.

Thought i would give it a quick clean just to get the salt off. I used
pressure washer to get main dirt off then used my new Meguires Lambswool
Wash Mitt and some Turtle Zip Wash and Wax in warm water to give it a
quick clean (10-15mins) and rinsed it. Then i put the stickers on rear
windows. I think it looks quite nice and the shine isnt to bad
considering ive never polished it or anything, just cleaned it.

Got my Uniroyal Rainsport 2 tyres today (04/01/11) from camskill for
£35.10 each. All i need to do now is finish refurb then they can go on
alloys then car.

Went to open my car door today (21/01/11) and the door handle snapped totally off. FFS, so new door handle time.

306 HDi Dturbo Project 20110121_011

11/02/11 - Fitted new handle and repair crash damage

First thing was removing door handle from new door and fitting it to my
door on car. So got to work with a 5.5mm drill bit to drill out the
rivets on my door (new door has the handle bolted on so i used these
bolts when fitting to my door) and then fitted new one.

306 HDi Dturbo Project 20110211_001

Then we proceeded to fitting new bumper, headlight wing and arch liner. With the help of a mate.
First off was the grill and headlight.

306 HDi Dturbo Project 20110211_005

Then to remove bumper, wing and arch liner.

Luke doing whatever lol.

306 HDi Dturbo Project 20110211_004

Then parts removed.

306 HDi Dturbo Project 20110211_006

306 HDi Dturbo Project 20110211_007

Some metal was bent behind wing so had to bend it back to shape and
coated it in hammerite to stop it rusting. Now to fit new parts.

Me under car trying to bolt the bumper on with a ratchet and socket, i
then remembered i have my flexi head ratchet spanners which made the job a million times easier.

306 HDi Dturbo Project 20110211_008

306 HDi Dturbo Project 20110211_009

All finshed and repaired but the car has a black eye lol.

306 HDi Dturbo Project 20110211_011

So a few days after when i got the time i did the passenger light black
mask. I do admit the car needs a damn good clean but didnt have time.

polish it up, havent decided yet.

Some pictures of it nice and clean.

Still undecided about single wiper. Think i prefer twin wiper but i will leave them for a while and see.

24/02/11 - Single Wiper Removed

Single Wiper now removed and returned back to standard as i prefer that.

04/03/11 - New Wheels On

The long awaited wheels are now on. Just need to clean the car again and give the wheels a quick sand and polish. Im extremely happy with the outcome though.

15/03/11 - GTi6 Boot Trim

Few pictures of GTi6 Boot trim i got of a member on here. They did come
with bolts and clips but they didnt fit so found some silver ones in my
workshop than ideally need painting black. Excuse the messy boot, need a
good sort out lol.

18/03/11 - Fitted Solid Beam Mounts

So, today me and a little help from a mate fitted the rear beam
mounts. Took around 2 hours to fit and had a few little problems. One
was one of the new rear mounts had a bit of a nackered thread so
nackered one nut trying to remake thread then used another nut to secure
it nice and tight. And the other was one of the front mounts, the
welding at bottom for bracket was in the way so couldnt get arm high
enough to put top bolt in so got angle grinder out and ground down the
weld a little so it fitted perfect. So after a bit of swearing and 2
hours work, they were all fitted. But all in all, they are brilliant and
i would highly recommended them (i got mine from Birk on here). Car
seems to sit lower on rear aswell so its all good. Car feels planted
around the corners, the handling is superb now, even more than it was
before. The rear feels so solid around the corners now its unbelieveable
and best of all its fixed my problem to the rear end swaying side to
side. Some people have said about more road noise inside car and feels
rough over bump. My 100% true opinion is, there is NO (well no more than
before) road noise and over the bumps, it doesnt sound or feel any
difference. The only difference and i mean the only difference is car
seems to sit a little lower on rear (its a good thing mind) and the
handing is fu*king awesome. Highly Recommended!

Also fitted new rear discs and pads along with a quick rear brake bleed
and the brakes are alot better. Not as much pedal travel and feels more
responsive.

22/03/11 - Engine Cover Clip Mod

I was fed up of losing all the clips off the top of my engine cover so i
made some new posts and secured the engine cover on with wing nuts.
Alot better job and simple to do. Guide coming soon.

29/03/11 - Mist Jets Fitted

Bought some mist jets from pug (£11.04 delivered) and fitted them. They
are brilliant. Some people say they dont spray high enough, but its
perfect tbh. Just like if they were factory fitted.

31/03/11 - Pressed Plates and Surrounds Fitted

Fitted these now. Car needs a clean though. Lol. I use 1 screw in each
corner to secure (4 screws in total) and its on there solid. Here are a
few pics with crappy camera.

De-Backbox, Replaced with Stainless Steel Pipe - 04/05/11

Bought a pipe ready made with the "mushroom" exhaust connector so it was a straight bolt off, bolt on fitment and just needed to make a bracket to hold it up. Sounds lovely now and shows all the petrol boys up bwarping around everwhere lol. Few pictures of it fitted and cleaned.

Thanks guys! I found out about the uniroyals on another forum im on as loads of people recommended them so bought a set of 4 (£130 including postage IIRC) and got a mate to fit them at his garage. They are 195/50/15 and they are an awesome tyre tbh. Stick like sh*t on the road and in the wet they are unbelieveable but i dont push my car all that often lol. But for the price of them im extremely happy. Bought them from camskill on the internet.

yeah ive used camskill plenty before.... very good prices for new tyres

fair, i thought they were a bit of a hard compound for the dry, and skipped a bit... but for winter in the wet they were pretty grippy.... and they take ages to wear too Smile

Fair enough. Are you sure you are thinking of rainsport 2 tyres lol. They are quite soft and at even 36psi, it looks like they dont have enough pressure in lol. Ive heard the wear on them are not to bad, but depends on your driving obviously. They seem to just grip, grip and grip in wet or dry but as i said, i dont really push my car that much around bends haha. Ive been told by a few 306's lads that they have had one rear wheel up in the air around a bend and still stuck to the road lol. Dont think i will push it that far but its nice to know anyway lol.

yeah def rainsport2..... i dont mean the pressure, if theyre squidgy theyre too low on air! haha i mean the compound (the actual rubber), its very hard i found.

and yes, i wouldnt advise cocking your leg round bends either.... only asking for trouble Wink

Haha. Well they are not squidgy, just look half flat lol. I know its ok and perfectly normal as loads of others are the same. One lad was running 40psi and that still wasnt high enough haha. I know what you mean mate, the compound is soft, well it is on my tyres anyway lol. Soft compound is what gives you the grip in the wet haha.

mist jets are awesome, instead of two piddly streams of water out of the jets you get a wide spray of mist covering the full screen, standard fitment on the xsara
